Joe Ennis "Fiddlehead Joe" — Partner
Growing up in Fredericton NB, the heart of fiddlehead country, Joe Ennis earned the nickname "Fiddlehead Joe" in the 1970's, when he could be found picking the elusive in-season fiddleheads with his siblings around their family home as an after school activity.
At the Ennis table, the item was always a dinner time staple. By the age of eight, the budding business man decided to open a roadside stand devoted strictly to the selling of fiddleheads, and forever cementing his nickname in the minds of the locals.
After moving to Vancouver, Joe was immediately attracted to the hospitality industry, finding work first at the West Vancouver Yacht Club, and then as General Manager at the Royal City Star Riverboat Casino. When business at the casino softened, Joe was offered an irresistible deal to purchase all of the kitchenware, and made the decision to strike out on his own. After finding a beautiful location and a willing partner in Dan, he knew that it was time to bring the fiddlehead to the West Coast. Seven years later, Vancouverites are still discovering the east coast delicacy and other tasty West Coast cuisine on the False Creek seawall.
